Reviews
Don’t just take our word for it, here are some words from a few of our happy customers.
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Alan at the Old Keswickian. Firstly for the delicious food…we usually only go into the takeaway, but last weekend we visited the upstairs restaurant. Oh my god the food was amazing.
Secondly, my 9 year old daughter left her gilet and hair band in one of the toilet cubicles and we didn’t realise until we got home later that day. I called the next day and within a week the guys at the restaurant had mailed the items back to me! So grateful.
See you next time, our bellies can’t wait!!!!
Just had a fish butty & chips and I’ve got to say the fish was a good size and tbh bloody lovely 😁
Chips were a decent portion size and cooked well.
I’ve noticed a negative comment about the staff …. all I can say is we were greeted with a smile so overall great food, good prices and nice staff.
No hesitation in recommending the Keswickian.
I last visited this place three years ago, and the second time was every bit as good as the first!
The upstairs restaurant has been updated somewhat since our last visit, it’s clean, airy and comfortable. Service is very friendly, helpful and prompt. As the food is brought up from the downstairs takeaway section, it arrives quickly after you’ve ordered.
The quality of the fish and chips is outstanding, I reiterate my earlier review, it’s the best I’ve had anywhere. Light crispy batter, tasty fish and perfectly cooked chips, with a generous portion of mushy peas too. My wife had the steak and mushroom pie and pronounced it to be excellent.
Including drinks, a meal for two comes in at a shade under £20. This is a place against which all other fish and chip restaurants should be judged, but it will always come out on top – the Gold standard!
